mirror hall RIJCKEVORSEL
A wordless reflection on a phenomenon that emerged in the 1920s and appears equally alive nearly a century later: the Mirror Hall . Inside the Mirror Hall in the Flemish Kempen, older bodies continue to dance, week after week, as if time has settled somewhere around a perpetual fairground. Though transience is tangible, the tent itself seems suspended—untouched by the concerns and conditions of the outside world. The photographs observe a weekly dance matinée as a quiet ritual, where movement, repetition, and presence form a space temporarily outside of time. noteworthy: my parents used to go there when they were young!
