SAVIOR OF THE UNIVERSE
Savior of the Universe functions as a photographic experiment in visibility and control. Visitors to the studio were recorded using an oversized ring flash, producing a uniform, frontal illumination that suppresses depth, atmosphere, and narrative context. The apparatus establishes a standardized visual condition in which individual features are rendered with maximum clarity and minimal interpretation.
The project examines how technical dominance and exposure affect the presentation of the subject. The title does not describe the image, but marks the discrepancy between grand narrative and the neutral registration of presence. The photographs operate as records of an encounter between body and system, rather than as portraits.
