INFRAPHIL WORLD
During GRAW (Groot Rotterdams Atelier Weekend), I recorded visitors positioned beneath two vintage heat lamps manufactured by Philips in the early 1960s. The lamps are frequently attributed to Charlotte Perriand. The only thing I found was that she once described the object as an example of good design, leaving questions of authorship unresolved. The radiating heat from the lamps, if not too long, produced a calming, almost anesthetic effect, subtly altering the behavior and appearance of those present. This physical intervention transformed the filmed encounter, creating a visual atmosphere that felt temporally and spatially displaced, situating the human body within a mediated environment shaped by design, warmth, and observation.
